Final Whistle is a party game for adults. The points are the game — the drink call is optional, every time.
The game works without alcohol
Every card carries a points value and an optional drink line. The scoring is identical whether your table is drinking alcohol, drinking something non-alcoholic, or ignoring the drink calls entirely. Nobody has to opt out of the game in order to opt out of drinking.
If your room is mixed, the simplest approach is to treat points as the real currency and let each player decide what is in their glass.
Who this game is for
Final Whistle is for adults 21+. It is not designed for, marketed to, or suitable for anyone under the legal drinking age.
Ground rules worth setting before kickoff
- Know your limits. A football broadcast runs about three hours. Pace accordingly.
- Never drink and drive. Sort out how everyone is getting home before the game starts, not after it.
- Non-alcoholic drinks count. Water, soda and non-alcoholic beer all satisfy any drink call.
- Nobody gets pressured. Passing on a drink call is always a legitimate move, and it never costs points.
- Keep food and water on the table. Both make the whole night go better.
If someone has had enough
Stop dealing them drink calls and keep dealing them cards. The game continues perfectly well on points alone, which is the entire reason the drink line is printed as optional.
Final Whistle is for adults 21+. Alcohol is optional. Any beverage may be used. Every player may opt out at any time. Know your limits, and never drink and drive.
